trying to find some help for this.
I had noticed that i haven't received any new members on my site for a while. Ended up finding out that when anyone tries to create an account they get this error- "invalid name". not sure what the problem is. I only have like 35 registered members and i don't have any names in the namesban file. any ideas?

Do i have the option to maybe use a different registration module or something?

Only certain characters are allow in the names. Most gamers want to use names that have [] in them and those are not allowed without modifications. Could that be the case?

If it was working and now it is not, then something has changed in Your_Account/index.php. Names are allowed to be a-z A-Z 0-9 _ - by default. Try restoring the original index.php to see if that clears up the problem.

I have searched the internet for a while now and have not found a cure for this problem. Let's get a clear cut fix posted here.

I just restarted my site and have received 16 members so far. now no one else can register. everyone gets this error during register process- ERROR- INVALID NICKNAME. I even tried it and got the same error.

What i have done so far to try to correct-
uploaded fresh mainfile.php and header.php files
uploaded fresh index.php file for MY_ACCOUNT module
played around with line in index.php file that checks for invalid characters in name.

come on Raven, you are da man! I know you can help me with this.

Honestly, that error comes from Your_Account/index.php. Redownload the 6.9 version of nuke and restore that index.php.

Hmmmm. Even though I started helping you within 12 minutes of your post and have continued doing so, I see you have posted the same post at NC. That, of course, I can understand. But I noticed this little addition there, and I quote
