It was mentioned in the installation of RavenNuke that if you use a template other than SubSilver for your forums, it would need to be patched. Any links or advice y'all might have on what to do, where to start? Many thanks...

its a bit hard finding these templates cause they come with included theme.
naturally you can use the template of course and patching isnt a big deal.
but hard to explain it all....first visit some sites to look at some themes...
try jaded-designs.com or nukemods.com and see if you can find a nice them with included template.

If you use the fisubice theme or the deepblue theme with Ravennuke, then you will automatically use their forum templates. These are the only two other themes in the base Ravennuke distribution that come with forum templates. About six months ago a couple of us looked at how themes worked vis-a-vis base Nuke and the Forums and it's a complicated and convoluted "mess" that we held off on tinkering with. Still Hitwalker's advise is right on the money, if you can find a theme that you like that has a Forum template go for it. Just be sure to test thoroughly for unintended side effects.

but am a little concerned since it's Last Update was October 15, 2003. Not much to choose from out there in black backgrounds. I assumed a phpbb theme is ok to use with BBtoNuke??

I'm only concerned about the security aspects, the template seems to be working fine (although it does slightly change the appearance of my site when users visit the forums area).
