I have a 7.0 site running in my root. I decided to download Raven's already-patched 7.1 and put it in subdir called nuke71. I copied all files accordingly. nothing went into root. I created a new database called n71 (my root nuke database is called nuke.... didn't want there to be any similarity). Edited config.php and VOILA! I had a new nuke install in a subdir. HOWEVER... and this is where is gets screwy

I only installed it with 2 themes. One was Deep Blue and the other was XP Silver. Now naturally this new site was defaulted to Deep Blue when it came up. First thing I did was click that home page link to make an admin and regular user. Logged out Admin and ....

HUH??
It switched to XP Silver for the regular user. Weirdness? So I say ok... security graphic works for admin, let's see if it works for user coming in... go to You Account and click logout. I'm still logged in.... try again... LOG OUT.... --> Home... I'm still logged in. I can NOT log out. Admin seemd to log out ok... regular user can not log out. I never get to a home page that says I'm anonymous and gives me the login block. I go away and eat dinner and come back ... visit a few other sites... come back again... and I get the login block.
So I log in. I get to what looks like a Your Account screen with no information in it other than my homepage link. So I click Home in the modules menu. I am logged out and have to sign back in. Try again... same thing... NOW I CAN'T LOG IN!

I think I'll delete this subdir and stick with my working-as-intended 7.0 install.

Smile

Sounds like cookie madness. The cookies are all confused because they have the same domain name, would be my guess.

Yeah I kinda figured it was a cookie thing. I just installed into a subdirectory to try it. I would probably have better luck creating a subdomain and trying again. The funny thing is... a subdomain ends up only really being a subdirectory anyways, but I know the cookies look different.

Many of the problems I have had with Nuke turned out to be related to cookies especially when logged in as admin and user at the same time. Also it made it difficult when using creating dummy users for testing. I also run four nuke sites from the same computer.

Since leaving the Cookie domain & Cookie name fields blank in phpbb forum admin I haven't experienced any cookie-related problems (at least that I know about Smile ).
