heyla there

a rank green newbie here, trying to get php-Nuke 7.1 (the patched one downloaded from here) running on my site ... and boy am I finding this curve a steep one. *wry grin*

I can put together a half decent html .. but this is something else entirely. I followed the install instructions but I get nothing but pretty white (blank) pages at index.php or admin.php or any other of them for that matter.

Error messages I could deal with ... at least they would give me a pointer as to what the trouble is ... but a bunch of blank pages doesn't give one much to work with.

I even got my server admin involved and made sure that his system met the requirements (Linux Mandrake, Apache server, php latest version [he updated it in an attempt to get nuke working]) and he's at as much of a loss as to what's going wrong as I am.

I have no clue what it is that's amiss ... but atm I'm thinking that it has something to do with the site's database ... I'm looking for a 'nuke.sql' to suit a postgres database as it doesn't use MySQL ... without success atm.

Might anyone have an idea or pointer that might set me on the right track please ?

Here's what I look like atm ...

I would agree. There is no pg.sql and the two are not interchangable. You really have little choice but to install MySQL. I have often thought how ridiculous it is to have nuke's 'sql_layer'. It is uselss since the only sql provided is strictly for MySQL.

thank you Raven Cool ...

My server admin is safely tucked away in bed at the moment, but I'll pass the information along to him come morning and see if he might be willing to install MySQL ... then determine where to go from there.

The swift and non-technical response is very appreciated.
