First great module.

Problem, only registered users can sign guestbook. I have changed the settings that need cahnging, here is the line from user.pref.php

$only_registered_users_can_add = false;

Still only registered can sign. I am using phpnuke 7.1

I just tested it here and it works correctly. Make sure that your module is set to All Users.

Of course, it is set for all users and it is set in the prefs for all. It does not work for non-registered users.

There must be something wrong in your user.pref file. Please zip your user.pref file and email it to me at raven at ravenphpscripts dot com . I have tested it over and over and it works every time.

I just downloaded a fresh copy and made a virgin install, only changing the registered users setting to false and it works. Please try reinstalling and ONLY changing that one setting to try to do the same test I did. I can find nothing wrong nor have I heard of any issues until now.

I installed a fresh copy all works again!

I was able to re-produce the problem:

You cannot have: Anonymous by itself

$defaultName = "Anonymous";

must be something with it

$defaultName = "Anonymous anything";
$defaultName = "Anything";

Don't know, but try it, go to my site, sign guestbook with "Anonymous" it won't work. Then sign with anything else and it will work.

Since I cannot reproduce this, I would like to figure out why it happens on your server, but I would need ftp access to your site. If you would alow me, please PM me your ftp url, id and password and temporarily set me up as a superuser and send me the password for that.

I figured it out, in the users table, user ID# 1 was Anonymous, left over from previous versions. As soon as it was removed all worked fine. Thanks for your help.

All nuke sites have that. That may have masked/resolved your issue, but it isn't the true cause, as my table has that. I would put traces in the addtogb.php module to try to find out where it breaks down. Something weird is going on.
