Hi all.

Do we have an approximate ETA on 2.10?

And is there a good chance that it will include Gallery 2, fully integrated? If so, does anyone know if it will be a simple matter to move 4000 or so photos/2GB, from Gallery 1.4.4pl6 to Gallery 2?

If 2.10 with Gallery is close, I'll hold off on my upgrade.

TIA,
Will

OK, thanks heaps Raven, I'll stop pulling my hair out about Gallery then, and concentrate on checking the other modules I need...

BTW, do you know if the G2 integration will use all the really cool extras like random photo blocks etc...?

In my test site where I integrated it, it seems I did the standard install. I'll have to check.

Yep about a month from when Raven posted 'about a month' so thats at least another 14 days by my reckoning depending on the amount of support queries, he has to answer, etc

Thanks so much for your efforts Raven, it'll be great to have an integrated Gallery2 running with Sentinel. I have been pulling my thinning hair out for the last 3 days trying to get Gallery to integrate into my current site...

As I have stated elsewhere, I have had some serious health problems over this past month and am way behind schedule on everything. I am starting to feel better and am now starting to sort through email, PM's, work requests, promises (broken mostly by now), etc. But since I do this now full time, when not sleeping because of my Narcolepsy, I should make some headway this week and will be able to give some updates later this week. Thank you for all your support!

Thanks Raven, I had no idea you'd been crook, having not hit the site for a while. I hope you are getting better... Thanks for all your help.

Hi Raven, Hope you are feeling better!

How are we looking on v2.10 now?

I'm planning on upgrading a site, and am wondering if I should wait... do you anticipate it will happen in the next few weeks?

I can guarantee you that it will not be in the next few weeks.

Rest assured, we will communicate our plans more formally when they have firmed up.

Thank you,

not a problem, I understand how easily timeframes can slip with things like this.

So, with the knowledge that v2.10 is not coming out soon enough for me to use, if I use the latest version and add Gallery myself, how easy will it be to the upgrade to 2.10 when it does happen?

No more dificult than using any other version of nuke as a base.
99% of problems fall into to catagories
The most common...not following instructions
And Time...taking short cuts or hurrying.
I would cetainly do as you propose, simply add gallery.

Will Gallery be optional? My ISP has the exec() function disabled and won't enable it. Right now I use Coppermine stand-alone.

For those interested, G2 and the integration pack both work fine under 2.0.2 - most of the headaches you will find though exist within the framework of ensuring you have the latest and matching versions of G2 and the integration pack...

Also for those interested, I have got Gallery 2.1RC1 working with integration pack 0.5.10, without too much trouble... All functioning well.

Hello,
you are right, the integration into raven's 7.6 was without problems, if you are running phpNuke in other language than german!!! Evil or Very Mad

I can not get it running with a german phpNuke. The problem is the following:

Gallery2 is a UTF-8 application, and PHPNuke is ISO-8859-1

That means, if I use Gallery all german Umlaute ( ä, ü, ö looks like ä, ü, ö ... ) are wrong displayed!

Please, try to find a solution for that in your installation, otherwise the above mentioned combination installs it without problems, but not for german, portuguese and maybe more other countries!

benson,

Have you tried changing, in language/lang-english.php,
define("_CHARSET","ISO-8859-1");
to
define("_CHARSET","UTF-8");
