In reference to Core-Nuke, it's basically finished for a PHP-Nuke style however I'm already working on 1.1.x which architect design is more alike Joomla!/Mambo in many regards.
*Codename: SimpleNuke -
Purpose of release is to show easy migration from PHP-Nuke/PostNuke to Core-Nuke CMS.
Been waiting on Xtrato for past two (2) weeks to finish template however I give up and placed this project "On-Hold" til I finish the new rewrites of NukeMatch.
Playing more w/ UML, PEAR, and CVS standards so, at least a few things have been learned and not considered a total waste.
I have some new sql and global classes which drastically improves and cuts down requirements and code sizes, think that should be a true benefit.
Got a new UTF8 Language support and removed need of "modules.php" making use of search friendly .html pages.
Back to NukeMatch Systems for awhile, with complete new overhaul and rewrite then take few days to knock off some PhotoShop tutorials and start working on some template designs.
SmileTag(tm) looks good! That's exactly my old plans, glad you have tackled these. Get bored, work some more on control functions w/ chat and perhaps include some group permissions?
I havn't talked to Yuniar for awhile, last time we talked he mentioned he had a Java job for next 2 months but, I know he's watching the homepage.
Keep up the good work! |

well, the only thing missing is the database integration!
it wud have been wonderful if it used the phpnuke database at the backend, and used the nicknames which the user had used during registeration ! |

I'm reading this thread with interest, because I have been looking for a decent shoutbox module that doesn't use javascript scrolling. The javascript puts a load on my shared hosting server.
I downloaded and installed SmileTag, and was totally impressed with it. The only problem I had is that is isn't integrated with the Nuke security, and people can shout using any name they wish.
I could just see my members shouting in my name and slagging people off!
Is it difficult to adapt the SmileTag to use nuke usernames / security, taking into consideration that I'm not the most advanced user / programmer?
Alternatively, can anyone suggest a security integrated shoutbox that has a good old fashioned scrollbar instead of javascript scrolling? |

Javascript scrolling doesn't have to put a load on your server. Javascript runs in the clients browser, and assuming its not doing any AJAX'y type stuff, it should not need to contact the server once the page is loaded. The Shoutbox from ourscripts.net (version 8.5) doesn't do AJAX but has javascript scrolling. |

Do you mean the link to the phpnuke shoutbox? Unfortunately, Shoutbox ver 8, from ourscripts.net, hasn't been available for awhile. I heard the author went off to Iraq and I haven't heard anything since. Too bad, because the ourscripts shoutbox is totally popular with the users on one of my sites, it's front and center on the homepage ... a chatty bunch they are too! Without the shoutbox on that site I'd be dismissed as sysop. So far, with a few fixes, it continues to work.
I'm away from my desk for a couple of weeks, or I'd offer to send you a copy. |
