I have used Coppermine before and like how it integrates to the site and pulls the user database and other things from the php-nuke site. (add-on installed)
But last I remember coppermine stopped offering any support for php-nuke/coppermine, they want you to run cpg-nuke instead.
Whats the best "add-on" for php-nuke for running a photo gallery? I hope that it pulls the theme, database, users from the php-nuke install.
what do you recommend and why? |

Well honestly?
Personal i go for coppermine.
But it had a bad name because of some security issues but i believe that was solved cause another site continued that and "giving" support on that?..
But cant remember what site it was.
Other option is gallery menalto.
Absolutly not my favorite.
Its to huge, and when you finaly get it installed you realise that coppermine is 10x better looking.
And to my opinion better overview and configuration. |

Ya I personaly like Coppermine. I have used it on several websites and would like to use it again, but at the same time I do not want to use a package that has little to no support. |

Well there is,just go to ravens story archive and search for coppermine.
The website involved said they were gonna support it.
But ehh...if something is working right who needs support then ? |

I use Coppermine for my production site (for the reasons you mentioned) and Gallery2 as a standalone. I like them both, but Coppermine gets the nod for PHP-Nuke integration.
Having said that, Coppermine for PHP-Nuke was the hardest install I ever did, but the Gallery2 standalone was a breeze.
LoL! I hope this doesn't serve to confuse you, but I don't know any other way of putting it... |

I have not used Coppermine, but I have installed Gallery 2 as a module for my Nuke site (), and I love it.
The features and flexibility of the Gallery are great. I am managing galleries of my photos, now exceeding 3100, and love the ease of being able to edit move and cross link photos from one gallery to another.
There are plenty of configuration and theme options, I find it hard to imagine you can not get the look you are after.
Installing the Gallery as a module to my Nuke site was a snap and the ability to upload bulk images and create thumbs made the change over from my old system a breeze.
If you are not committed to a gallery I highly recommend trying this one out.

Very interesting thread. I guess we all have our preferences. I've been using Gallery 1.5.x for over a year now on one of my nuke sites and the integration to nuke, in my opinion, is seemless. But, to each his own. I have another nuke project in the works and am planning on going with RavenNuke76 2.x.00 when it comes out with G2 as an option. |

Talking about photo gallery integration...
I wish the graphic artists, in the Nuke community, would start integrating Coppermine and/or Menalto Gallery into their themes, like they do phpBB. If anyone is doing this, I'm not aware of it. |

I'd like to revive this thread a bit - I just upgraded to RN 7.6 and my coppermine stopped working. I am wondering - is there a secure new version of coppermine out there? If not, what should I use?
The thing that sucks is I have a ton of galleries all set up in coppermine already. |
