I just transferred my nuke site. Everything is there and working, but members can not log in. I have changed settings in Admin > Preferences to reflect new domain. Also in Forum Configuration I have changed cookie settings. I have deleted my own cookies and cache on my machine. I still cant login.

You can sign up a new user and stay logged in just fine. It is existing members that joined before I moved the site that can not log in. So I am thinking there is something in the database or a cookie setting somewhere.

Also , just to see what happens, I signed up a test account. This account was able to log in fine. I then changed the settings in Preferences > Admin , and also in Forum Config. That account then was not able login, having the same login as above.

So I think it has something to do with these settings.

Any suggestions?

Ok, tried that. Default settings from a fresh install are

Domain Name: yoursite.com
Cookie Name: phpbb2mysql
Cookie path: /

Didn't work. I have also tried with the settings that I had before transfering the site

Domain Name: loveallbirds.com
Cookie Name: phpbb2mysql
Cookie path: /

These are the settings I had changed to for my new domain:

Domain Name: sureshotters.com
Cookie Name: phpbb2mysql
Cookie path: /

None worked. However, if you sign up a new user, everything is fine. But if you change those settings, the test account has the same login problem. Even if you change the cookie settings back to what they where when I signed up the test user, still cant log in.

It's been 6 days now that I have been trying to figure this out. None of my members have been able to login, including me Smile I can only log in to admin.

Thanks for any help!

I tried logging in with security code enabled and no luck.

I am running PHP Nuke Platinum, latest version, which uses CNB Your Account 4.4.0 b2

I would have mentioned before, but figured this login problem happened in other versions of nuke too, because a year ago I had tried to transfer a Nuke 6.9 site I was working on, and got about the same result.

In CNB Your Account I have gone to Cookie Configuration and changed:

Activate the CookieCheck (beta): No
Activate the CookieCleaner: Yes
Time of Cookies: 1 month
Path of Cookie: (none)
Allowed period of pageview inactivity: Indefinite

Still no luck Sad

Yeah, it is the members who had already joined before I transfered the site to my new web host. I know it's only 15 members (all site staff), but we've put a lot on the site, especially in hidden areas & forums, I would hate for them to have to rejoin.

I haven't cleared any temp stuff in my database. What should I check? Do I need to post my DB details? There are 309 tables. I have looked them over closely hoping that something would be obvious, but I didn't see anything.

no you dont have to post anything..
but but i think it goes 100x faster if you would let someone else have a look..
if thats raven (if he wants to) or myself that doesnt matter to me...
but if you decide to let me look i need access to phpmyadmin to look at the tables...
The info for that you can send it by PM.

well thats the problem i think, but im lost on that...
i definately dislake windows servers.
I suggest that you contact raven by PM and ask for some help, thats more his territory then mine...
The only thing i could find is that you mispelled your domain name.
it said :htto://www.sureshotters.com

instead of :http://www.sureshotters.com

Look at the http..was htto

But raven probebly knows what the problem is...

Running on windoze shouldn't be a factor as long as you're using Apache. Please PM me your
Site url, god adminid/pass
FTP url, id/pass
MySQL url, id/pass

It will be later today, but I will take a look.

Also, in your PM, restate what the problem is.

In looking at your USERS table, I see several unencrypted passwords. Not good! All passwords MUST be encrypted or the login routines will not work. Try resetting your password via phpMyAdmin and then md5 it when saving it. If you can then login, since you only have 18 entries or so, if it were me, I would use phpMyAdmin and assign all new passwords, remembering to md5 them when saving. Then send an email to each of your users explaining that they need to login and change their password. Or, just send an email to them all and tell them to request a new password. It's really no big deal to have to reset a password. Sometimes it's just easier to fix the problem than figure out how/why it happened Wink

Ok, I'm working on changing all passwords to md5 now. My own password is md5 but I am still not able to login. I tried changing my p/w , checked phpmyadmin to see that it was in md5, cleared all my cookies/cache. Not able to log in as a member.

Thanks for helping, I am going to tinker around with it a bit more.

Everything you indicate is indicative of a cookie/cache problem. I know you say you've covered that so I don't have any other ideas at this time.
