file that is needed to edit profile

Just a thought, check to see if includes/smtp.php is chmodded 666

I chmodded it to 666 but the problem persists.

I think (I'll give it some time) I may have just now fixed the problem - I went to the Forums admin, to the configuration

Use SMTP Server for email
Say yes if you want or have to send email via a named server instead of the local mail function Yes No

While I've always had it set to No, I switched it to Yes and it appears to be working - I'll post back later if the issue persists.
