I had enabled secutity code for registration only and someone let me know today that it is not working. I tried to create a test user and they are correct. The security code doesn't show up anywhere but when you click submit it asks you to go back and fill it in.

I have version 4.4.0 b2 and I am not sure what to do.

Try setting it to both for now that setting works for sure at least for me it does. I'll dig into that as soon as I get a chance.

Ok I have to ask for more info here. I've run the settings as you suggested don't work and it works fine. Can you send me a list of all of your settings maybe there is a conflict when certain conditions exist in the setup.

Here's what I think might be happening I think there is a conflict with the login box in your theme header. Would you mind trying it with a standard theme or when I'm done uploading stuff here I'll see if I can download yours or one simular to it.

I'll try uploading the files to my site and see I think I did already. There was a little file confusion there when the main download site went down.

If you have inspected the code, then the reason for such behaviour may be very simple: you have to copy the picture code_bg.png to your themes images. Then it works...

BTW: This should also be mentioned in a revision of the installation instructions...

But anyway if that file doesn't exist it should switch back to the one in ./images

Yeh TheosEleos your right its in the files I uploaded to fix the missing field. There might be something that wasn't sposed to be changed in those until the next release. I'll diff them with the previous ones and fix it asap shouldn't take but a few minutes.

BTW: It cannot switch to ./images/code_bg.png because from default there is an code_bg.jpg. So copying the right image or changing the code is a solution. Greetings.

I checked it: the code_bg.png must be coppied to both locations, because in the code a png file is processed. A JPEG would not help I'm sorry to say. Greetings.

[teaser]
In the next version we'll probably include an advanced security code image conrtol panel. This will allow for jpg as well as png images. Additionally the ability to select from a library of 40 (!) security code images and several awesome random ones.

CNBYA must be the fastest developing module arround.

Wouldn't it be better to use only one security code image system inside phpnuke and related modules and blocks? As long as I understand is already one of these things in the general admin section implemented. Why not use that for generating and displaying the security code in the same manner instead of inventing a new system on a differerent place in the system? How is it? Greetings. Question

The one for the admin system is completely seperate (but the same code) from the one in Your Account. Its all about choices one of the choices will be the original I'm sure. I speculate that we will see bots that can read the default images in the wild sooner or later. Option of a random background can only make the system harder to defeat.
