Couldn't we just use the check_html() and Fix_Quotes() functions or htmlspecialchars() or htmlentities() for most of the fields. The one that will be the hardest to work on is the signatures. I think it really needs to play nice with the forums profile. The check_html function is nice because there is some control over allowed html and the option for no html.
