I tried installing this today.
Edited the files, checked everything twice over, uploaded them. But was not sure which directory to put these 2 files in and assumed they both went into the templates Subsilver folder:
| Quote: |
#-----[ COPY ]------------------------------------------
#
copy quick_reply.php to /
copy quick_reply.tpl to templates/subSilver
#
|
went to my forum and above the forum there was this error:
| Quote: |
Warning: main(modules/Forums/quick_reply.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/minicity/public_html/nuke/html/modules/Forums/viewtopic.php on line 1273
Warning: main(): Failed opening 'modules/Forums/quick_reply.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/minicity/public_html/nuke/html/modules/Forums/viewtopic.php on line 1273
|
eeek!
Help please? |

Did you add the required code to the files? |

you mean the code to insert in the 3 files mentioned in the readme? If so yes I did that.
Did I put the quick_reply.php and quick_reply.tpl files in the right directory? |

The .tpl goes in the template folder, and the .php file will go in modules/forums/ |

Is this the quickreply reply hack that I posted the phpbbhacks URL? If so it's possible it need's some tweaking as it was intended for stand alone phpbb. |

Does anyone know what tweaks are needed to get this to work in Nuke v7.0 with phpbb 2.0.8 please?
I'd really like to add it to my forums. Thanks. |

As a non-programmer, I would also benefit from the knowledge of others if they so choose to help..... much obliged. |

Can you post the download url for the mod? You might also want to check at as they have pre-ported mods. |

Yes, those require some modifications to be used with Nuke but both are available at portedmods already ported |

The one I tried I got from the link Ganga left in this thread.
I'll have a go at the ones at ported mods too and let you know if it goes well. |

I d/l this mod from this link
(it's the right one)
But it's missing the "attach signature" and "notify me when a reply is posted"
boxes !!
It works fine for me,but when clicking the "all" button for more smilies i get
an error message in the quickreply.php file for the includes stuff on line 32,33, and 34 ?
Please admin(at this site),could you be so kind to put up your files for this mod
for d/l, i'd be forever gratefull !
I'm using nuke/phpbb v2.0.10

I finally got this last mod installed, thanks for that link dobbelina.
It took a while, and the instructions are lot confusing. | Quote: | ## Files To Edit: 3
## viewtopic.php,
## language/lang_english/lang_main.php
## templates/subSilver/viewtopic_body.tpl |
You actually have to edit 4 files, as directed in the instructions, including overall_header.tpl.
And the last two files are actually in /themes/your_theme/forums
Also, this path | Quote: | | modules/Forums/lang/lang_english/lang_main.php | should be modules/Forums/language/lang_english/lang_main.php
Hope this saves you some headaches
*edit*Oh, by the way, it defaults to only showing «««« Quick Reply »»»» and you have to click on this to open the Quick Reply box |

Yup and they don't explain exactly where to put these 2 files:
copy quick_reply.php to /modules/Forums/
copy quick_reply.tpl to themes/YOUR_YHEME/forum
unless it was me being dim when I read it lol
I was reading thru that thread that Dobbelina left (thanks for the link) that it's not compatible with Firefox. So they recommend more editing here:
| Quote: | Copy quick_reply.tpl - viewtopic_body.tpl - overall_header.tpl to themes/YOUR_YHEME/forum and not to themes/subSilver/forums/.
Remove the effect "hidden/show" on click (look this forum), because it's not compatible with Firefox:
Open quick_reply.tpl
Code: › Select ›‹ Contract
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<p align="center"><b><font color="red" size="2" face="Tahoma" style="cursor:hand" OnClick="expandit(this)">«««« {L_QUICK_REPLY} »»»»</b></p></font>
<span style="display:none" style=&{head};>
#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]--------------------------------
#
<!--<p align="center"><b><font color="red" size="2" face="Tahoma" style="cursor:hand" OnClick="expandit(this);">«««« {L_QUICK_REPLY} »»»»</b></p></font>
<span style="display:none" style=&{head};>-->
|
I think this mod actually needs rewriting in plainer english for people to understand and with the corrections. It would save people a lot of trouble when they try to install it.
I havent tried installing it yet, cos I'm too much of a chicken lol |

OK, now I am more confused. In quick_reply.tpl, that text is NOT there
*edit*Probably due to the late hour, but I was looking at a version of the quick_reply.tpl from another version of the Quick Reply mod.
That line is in that quick_reply.tpl.
Sorry for the confusion |

rofl
Now you see why I haven't tried to install it yet.
I have several members that use Firefox, so I'm not going to install this til it's bug proof and works with all browsers. lol
I'm not competent enough with coding to find out why things dont work, I just use what other people write, so if something isn't quite right, I can really mess things up lol
I'm beginning to wish I hadn't asked about this mod rofl |
