Gang,
I emailed my host, and got the following reply: | Quote: | Unfortunately, we are not able to recompile PHP as an Apache module.
We recently implimented a new security feature in PHP (suPHP) that requires
that we run PHP as CGI.
I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.
--
Regards, |
suPHP is a new term to me.
Any thoughts/ideas/comments? |

OK, Raven, give me a price quote.
I currently have 800 Megs of storage, unimited emails, 40 GB/month bandwidth.
suPHP and only one MySQL database are the only complaints against this hosting company.
What would it cost me?
*edit* I've checked Ravens hosting packages and am seriously considering switching. But for now, this suPHP/HTTPAuth problem is something I will have to live with.
*second edit* Raven was gracious enough to accept my site for webhosting, so all my problems will disappear |

Raven, DNS has resolved, and I am now a happy member of Raven's Webhosting. Thanks to you, Bob, Chat, Six, and everyone else for EVERYTHING you have done to help me, and everyone else here.
I'm running 7.3 Custom RC1 with Sentinel 2.0, and as far as I can tell, everything is working perfectly. |

Bob, thank you for noticing. 1981 was the first time I saw Dale drive. That was the year he moved to Childress Racing. I was addicted, and it provided plenty of excitement and rivalry since my dad is a Bill Elliott fan.
And thanks for everything you've done to help us here. |

GeekyGuy had asked what suPHP was so I gave him the link. If http auth is not working then your host probably has php compiled as a CGI instead of an Apache module. As stated above, request them to recompile. Otherwise, sol unless you change hosts. |

LunarPages is who I WAS hosted with. And they are running suPHP as a CGI module. That's why I made the switch to Raven's webhosting. |
