<snip> Actually I said "Oh for mercy's sake! Scroll down." <snip>
You're right you did say that but, I guess like you said, the tone, by a few, I sort of read it the other way. So your point about hard to read the meaning or inflection through straight text is proven.
I would like to know his rejection of RN and also why he has picked others as winners too actually.
This is a tough field to compare as I also feel ANY flavour of nuke is falling way behind technologies capabilities as a CMS especially in terms of progressive improvement. However, it still holds strong in the category of easy to manage and get a site up with from a begginers standpoint. I am not even a begginer nor a bad learner but I still find many of the new CMS's confusing to get a site up with the features one would want right out of the box (like forums, downloads, events, news and reviews areas). They all make adding a plain HTML page much better and easier than any Nuke Package but what about the rest of the stuff above. I also find many of their admin areas confusing to navigate. While Nuke could use huge improvements in the Admin area it is very easy to navigate and operate. I do like that.
Now as for Ravennuke and CMS comparisons I say it is a good choice for many amongst what is out there and if one were to compare it to versions of "Nuke or Nuke forks" I would have to say it Ranks in the top 5 at the very least. I think it has had a winning formula in terms of keeping bloat down though I fear it may be slightly moving away from that tactic. Not sure though.
I have installed and looked at about every CMS in your list. I even have some of them running sites for clients. I also have 22 RN sites. 2 of those push over 100,000 page views a day.
So what are your comments on other CMSes from the list, other than RN? Have you found CMSes from the list which you considered a good choice and a good tool to run websites?
I haven't use so many CMS. but i did use almost all the nuke CMS's that i can find. i started my site in 2006 when i was in collage. i used to love PHP Nuke till i keep getting hacked. then last year i change it to nuke evolution. it was not bad. but didnt like it much. then again i use PHP Nuke 8.1. got hacked again. last i use Raven Nuke. been using it for like 8 months now with out any problems and with the best support for free. anything i wanna know i will ask in this forum. i always get a answer within a hour. great support, easy to use, super security and its all free. what more can u ask for?
