Social Network Module Available?

Hi All,

The way things are going out there on the www, I am realising that without some kind of social networking feature added to our sites and also may be article tagging etc it will be difficult to keep at par with other sites. So I am wondering if anyone knows of anything about these (I am not aware of it)...

a) Social Networking Module
b) News Article Tags Cloud
c) Top Searches Tag Cloud

I am running RN 2.2 will be nice if you can point me out at the right direction...

For RavenNuke(tm) 2.4+ Tricked Out News has the Integrated Social Networking and News Article Tags Cloud. It may work on 2.2 but no guarantees on that.

Thanks I checked it out but I could not understand whether it's searching the pages and creating tags as per site searches or we need to post the tags while we are posting a news...I am yet to download and test it but found out few links

Any idea which one should I opt for and how the system works? The third I understand for short linking the tag results page

But could not quite find the social networking module there

which has the tag cloud that uses tags entered when the article is posted. The social networking links are not a module but an addon to the news module as well as a block that will allow social bookmarking of pages.http://meotoo.com has a tag cloud module that I believe auto generates the tags.

Hi that's great will check out meotoo...I went through the older file that I downloaded...by first impression it needs me to change Submit News Module and News Module (Index pages I believe)...

I am running rn 2.2 and in the tag script its written 2.3 (basically meant for 2.3) - that is a little unpredictable situation as if I replace news and submit news pages from later versions of rnnuke...my old modules might just create problems. Might try to modify the existing pages with the extra tag codes..if its easy else need to wait for my 2.4 upgradation

For the social netwrking I was thinking in terms of a community kinda thing that you have in facebook or orkut etc...where members can see each other and make their own circles and invite people...

NuNuke has some cool stuff in development similar to what you are looking for.. chat, buddies, etc.... register to check it out Smile

and yes, you might make life easier on yourself by waiting until you upgrade. Sounds like alot of work editing for an older RN version, considering you need to upgrade your site anyway Wink

doesn't have the modules registered under downloads but as you said after registering I can go to the development section..will do that and check it out...
