Hello. I run a MSN clone chatroom on my site with a module that works well with ravennuke, and I have done alot of editing for 3 modules of this chat. You can enter with a plain username, A unicode name that works with the server I run, and also an admin name where only certain people can join as an admin when they have been entered into the database manually by myself. I added some extra parts to the nuke_users table and what I am trying to create is a page where members can actually alter this data for their name for the fancynick. I use to use the Your_Account module where I copied it and renamed it and started to delete some things where only the real name line was showing and used that for fancy nicks. I want to be able to keep the real name part but want to be able to call up a page to edit the fancynick part. For the chatroom to find the name in the fancynick slot i have this code
Code:
$msncookie = "$userinfo[msncookie]";
in my language folder and in the chatscript I have
Code:
Nickname=\"$msncookie\"
Where $msncookie in the chatscript looks for itself in the language file and calls the data using
Code:
$userinfo[msncookie]
How can I create a page where users can alter this data themselfs. Does this page need to be a module itself.

There are many ways to handle this. You might try

. I'm planning on making this one of our standard tools for RavenNuke(tm) development.

Also you can search google for 'datagrid' there are lots out there for PHP, jQuery, etc. You can specify which tables(s) and field(s) you want to be editable (and by whom) not to mention easy styling of the 'grid' itself via CSS

Hello thanks for your replies. I have looked at both of them but for the love of god I could not get my head around any of that stuff. Guess i need to download things on php and mysql and study. What i know so far works for now til something needs doing and i know i cant do it. lmfao. I have tried to edit the edituser.php file and managed to add an extra line but trying to change it all and get it to work will take some time. I looked at the realname part of that file and copied it and started from there. If i can add the extra line in the your_account part that might do me just fine. Like i have mentioned before i have used another copy of the Your_Acount module and stripped everything but the realname part and used that part to do the fancyname. Now if i can add an extra line in the account and members add their name there then that will do. Apart from the edituser.php file, what other files would i need to edit to enter the extra line in. I can keep poking my head around all the files til i think i have got it. I have loaded another copy of ravennuke on my server as the test then once i have worked it all out then i transfer what i have done to the original site. I thank you again for your replies. Very Happy
