I want to block an entire country but am not sure how to do it. I have searched but have not found the answer. I am using the latest NS program. I enter the Blocked IP to Country menu, then IP2C Add Range, I then select the country from the drop down tab ie TR for turkey, then I slect add and I get this message, "The IP MUST BE numeric with each octet between 0 and 255! "
I have left the ips as the default that the program had in the drop down menu. Apparently I am missing something in the IP From to the IP TO drop down menu.

Been having too much suspicous activity from Turkey and what to just block the whole country without having to do it one ip at a time since there are 6 pages.

there are many free tools to assist you in this. I don't personally vouch for any of them but here is one that looks able to do the job.

Thx Raven,

What I was wanting to use was the NS program to do it but not sure how to do it.
Before I could import the countries ip to the blocked ranges but I no longer see that as an option in my NS admin area.

The ranges are already there. Go to the IP2C menu in NS. If you then go the IP2C Range Listings you can see the individual countries and you can also choose to block the ranges.

I see that but don't understand on how to do it. I go to the NS and select the IP2C range lisiting for Turkey. There are 6 pages worth. I wanted to know if I could just block the entire country "Turkey" by this method instead of having to enter each To and From ip address each time for 6 pages worth of ips. There must be a much simpler way. In the old NS I could import the ip data and block em all with one copy and paste. I do not see that as an option anymore.

Well you don't need to enter each IP address, but you do need to click the block icon for each range. Unfortunately the option to block the whole country in one go appears to have been removed. Sad

I would imagine it was removed because often times you need to block a country as a whole but then allow certain IP's through. That's how I do Turkey, as a matter of fact. However, I use .htaccess and always have.

Thanks guys,
As always this site keeps novices like myself headed in the right direction. I did see a thread where one person, I think it was a hitwalker? listed a whole page of IP2C country data to cut and paste into haccess. I believe I'll go that route.
I for one would love to see the feature to block entire countries with one simple click in some future revision of RN. Thanks again for the help.

Just use that link I mentioned up above and you should have all your IPs.
