All I get when I go to my site
all I get is this error page
| Quote: |
MySQL Error
There seems to be a problem connecting to the MySQL server.
MySQL is Reporting
Too many connections
If you are the System Administrator and installing this for the first time, did you remember to create your database first?
Also, there seems to be a problem with the System Configuration Table - it's missing.
If you are the System Administrator and installing this for the first time, did you remember to run the INSTALLATION/installSQL.php file?
If you are not the System Administrator, please report this to the Administrator and/or Web Master ASAP.
We will be back as soon as possible. |
When I go to my cpanel and click on mysql databases all the files are there, but when I click on phpmyadmin I'm getting a page with a 1040 error (too many connections).
I have no idea how the attack was carried out. Raven if you read the other thread 'My site was hacked' on here you will see that you installed the security patch for me back earlier in the year, regards the captcha security hole. |

Site came up for me. Possible that your host was doing upgrades or experiencing technical difficulties |

cornishpixie, "too many connections" is not an indication that you have been hacked. Talk to your host about it. |

I'm sorry I didnt understand the error messages.
My host has emailed me to say he has restored the database and everything seems to be working ok again now, and that some pages on my site were using a lot of database resources.
What would have caused that to happen, as the site hasn't been changed for 2yrs apart from upgrading my Ravennuke.
Thanks |

Some hosts limit the number of connections to a server/database in order to keep any one client, on a shared hosting platform, from monopolizing the server/database. In turn they will usually charge for allowing additional connections. I don't know if that's the case with your host or not.
Then again, it can be the case that someone is trying to jam up all the connections to your server to interrupt your service. Your host should be able to tell you what the situation is. |

I have adjusted the thread title to be more appropriate - I hope. Feel free to adjust more if you like. |
