hi there
i'm not often here and i hope i'm in the right, because i'm using nuke itself, but i think this is also interessting for you
since i use nuke (meanwhile over six years) one module was always a thorne in my eyes.
the stories achive....
well you can call it archive, for me it's just a list of month and got nothing to do with an archive.
so i rebuild it to a version what a archive should look like
with the years, months and the news at one page like this
YEAR
->MONTHS
-->NEWS -> Details
-->NEWS -> Details
->MONTHS
...
and so on.
ok, now you evetuelly say, i got over 500 news, and the loading time is intense.
no problem
i build a "simpleview" option
where you only get the years and months
(formerly my never released and buggy version 2)
but i talk to much
if you wanna take a look
feel free
both site runs with fullview mode
but you can change the viewmodes with
&sa=show_all
at the end of the list is the simpleview mode what you get when you change it
and yes, the sort function works
also when on the next sites
if tested the module on phpNUKE from Version 7.1 to 8.0
but it should work also with lower NUKE versions
also with RavenNuke 2.30, Nuke Evolution Basic 2.0.1 and Nuke Platinum v.7.6.0
ah, yeah, the download link

Very nice - and much more useful than the default, especially for SEO purposes! |

Very nice indeed and would be a welcome replacement I would think to what exists today. Very strong looking module. Thank you for sharing this! |

is it possible to integrate this changes in the holy RavenNuke without transferring the old phpnuke nuke code? |

That's one of the benefits of open source - you have the code so you can improve it if you like. |

I just uploaded it to my site and it works fine. I installed it as a separate Stories_Archive3, but the code looks as if you can replace the Stories_Archive module with it by renaming it. It appears to be using the global module name instead of hard coded name.
Plus it validated XHTML 1.0 transitional.
edit: Some of it is XHTML valid. Not all. It does work though. |

That is the second time I've seen you write that... I can honestly say that it has never been blessed by any Priest, so you can just call it simply "RavenNuke". |

I also did not like the default stories archive. Made my own here:
I'm not crazy about the listing of all months, so I have a manual index which is a little more friendly to the eyes:
My archives lists all the stories from the entire month, just like you would see on the front page. |

I like that, I like it a lot.
On the main archives page I'm not sure you would really need to have an 'email to friend' or 'print' option displayed as you would have no way to know just by looking at the title if you wanted to use those options but I think having the other information there, like the number of comments etc is great.
A really nice looking module and I will actually download it and use it. |

@ destro - Hope you don't mind but I have downloaded your module and made some modifications to it.
I will contact you later via PM to get an email address so I can send it to you.
Some modifications to take advantage of RN's dynamic header for the styling.
Some minor bug fixes and enhancements including XHTML 1.0 Transitional Compliance, CSS3 valid and accessibility standards compliance to WCAG v1.1 and US Section 508 |
