just recently discoverd ravennuke, and liked the security features and some things featured in the patches. i wish i had discovered raven nuke before i installed regular ol phpNuke.

i did install sentinel and 3.3 patch but sentinel just dont seem to work right for me. so i figured a full raven nuke would solve all my problems

is it possible to install ravenNuke 2.3 over my already running phpNuke 8.0 and keep my forum post, users, downloads, etc? i also have a few other mods that could be reinstalled no problem.

or is patching my nuke to 3.3 the equivalent to installed ravenNuke?

thanks ravenNuke

Yes it is possible and no patching 8.0 would not give you the equivalent to RN.

The HowToInstall files talk about how to upgrade and there are many posts here talking about it also, so a bit of reading and searching should give you the answers you are looking for. Wink

i do always read and search, but i end up reading so many things and having so many tabs and windows open, i get confused and figure a question and direct response to me will help.

The important thing is to make sure your database structure matches RN and then everything else should be fine.

Tools like mySQLDiff are extremely useful for this.

so i got RN runnin localy. and i got mySQLDiff on here, and after teh final step, it took me to save.php which was blank white page, with no source. whats this mean?

*edit*
i could not get the mySQLDiff to convert the database properly.

is there an easy way to just get my forums, and users moved over?

so, ive been tryin to do this all day long. and i am completly lost. and frustrated.

maybe someone could tell me what to do with these options in mySQLDiff

Yes No Change table type
Yes No Alter table options
Yes No Consider auto_increment parameter
Yes No Alter table charset
Yes No Alter comments
Yes No Generate hint on changes in attribute format
Yes No Merge statements
Yes No Use Backticks for table and attribute names
Yes No Syntax highlighting
Yes No Move foreign keys to the end of script
Yes No Deactivate foreign key checks before script run.
Yes No Create INSERT- or REPLACE-statements for selected tables.
Yes No Show connection state

and am i right be selecting my old database as the source DB and the RN database as the target DB?
