Do not abandon old database layer

I am running this flash games module that uses it and unless I become old and wise and fix it its probably not going to get updated by the author so please dont abandon it Smile

However , I think we should have the possibility to re-enable/disable the old layer in the admin pannel.

I'm running flash games too... I'd love to fix this module and have attempted to do so... but my talent is lacking. There are a few other modules I use that use the old dbi ... I'd hate to toss them out the window so I vote for keeping the the old dbi too.

You have to buy it .. well you have to buy a "premium" thingie for $5.00 to download it.

I am happy to send you the module for your preview if you PM me the where.

Before someone comments about the ethics of that let me point out first that the guy advertises and runs a newer version other than the one you download and you don't find out the module you've been looking at isent what you just baught until after you download and install it.

I went to ask when the version he is advertising will be available and the reply was the same reply he gave someone in 2007 which was "we like to make sure all the bugs are worked out first"

Well it does not take 2 years to work all those bugs out so it only leads me to conclude it was a bait and switch and I should be glad it was only $5.

Trust me when I say I have no personal use for an arcade module nor will I give/sell it.

He can't really sell "it" anyway. Only charge for server space and bandwidth. Not that I would redistribute something someone else made with out there permission, but just stating the facts or trying to contact them.

I'm always happy to look at converting older modules provided you don't mind waiting in line. Sometimes it really isn't worth the bother as the amount of time needed can sometimes out weight writing a new module from scratch.
