I would prefer NS to write it's blocked IP's to the top of the htaccess file instead of the bottom.
It doesn't make any sense to me to write blocked IP's to the bottom of the file as htaccess directives are carried out in the strict sequence they are written.

I don't want to waste resources filtering referer strings, re-writing rules, error redirection etc if the IP is banned.

Its good like it is currently thats my opinion.
At the top of the .htaccess I have since years a lot of own banned IPs with deny from and at the bottom the banned IPs from NukeSentinel.
I quess if you change this behavior of NS you will end up with IPs in just
one line wich is very confusing.
