No stats anywhere seem to recognise that there are anonymous users or 'visitors' on the website..

Why would this be?

I have latest ravennuke.

Users will show up as guests when in the forum but the blocks don't show any visitors being present on the site (when i am 100% there are at the time)

PLEASE HELP ME!

Should be very simple to fix through the database.
Take also a look here:

I had a similar issue with the block a time ago because my site was down for several hours and afterthat the block didn´t show the info anymore. Maybe I can find the thread and the steps to solve this immediately.

Btw: Activate error logging- Maybe it shows something.

Look in the code of the block to see what info your block is using from the database.

That was because you double posted, it makes it very difficult for us to help people if there is two conversations going on at once.

There are different levels of error logging/reporting. From what I have seen you have looked at you server error logs, but there is also error reporting within the package by turning it on within the config.php file. Additionally there is database logging (SQL logging) which can be turned on in the rnconfig.php file.

Please turn each of these on and report back any errors.

Cheers

The instructions are in the rnconfig.php where you turn it on:

Code:
/*********************************************************************************
* SQL Logging to Text Log File:
* Calls through db/mysql.php only are logged.
* loglevel = 0 -> no logging (default setting)
* loglevel = 1 -> logs sql errors (with associated IP address) only
* loglevel = 2 -> logs ALL sql query statements and errors and is intended for
*                 development testing purposes only as the log file can grow
*                 rather quickly!
* set up a dblog file in your /rnlogs directory with privileges of 666 to use this
*********************************************************************************/

I opened RWS_WhoIsWhere/index.php and it looks like the entire thing is line 1..

I don't know why that would be?

Do those logs help you work out what's wrong?

Did you download that from your server, or from the archive file?

What are you using to view the file?

lines 498 500 and 501 of /includes/page_header.php say

Code:

        header ('Cache-Control: private, pre-check=0, post-check=0, max-age=0');
}
header ('Expires: 0');
header ('Pragma: no-cache');

lines 251 and 252 of /includes/sessions.php says

Code:

   setcookie($cookiename . '_data', serialize($sessiondata), $current_time + 31536000, $cookiepath, $cookiedomain, $cookiesecure);
   setcookie($cookiename . '_sid', $session_id, 0, $cookiepath, $cookiedomain, $cookiesecure);

The issue with RWS_WhoIsWhere/index.php is solved here so I have done as suggested.

It shouldn't all be on one line. So either the editor is screwing it up, or the archive hasn't downloaded correctly. I use Notepad++ for most of my quick editing and viewing, might be worth trying at a different editor. Also try downloading the archive again.

Looks like there is a problem with sessions, but this is a bit out of my depth, so we will have to see what one of the experts can make of it.

How are you uploading to the server? Are you doing it in binary?

I'm just using GlobalSCAPE CuteFTP

How do I check how things are being uploaded?

The whole website including visitors showing up was working when it first started, so something that has happened since then has screwed things up.

I don't know what files to look at or edit or replace to fix it, without messing anything else up Sad

Most people here use FileZilla (which is free), because people have had problems with other FTP packages. I don't use CuteFTP so I don't know how to check if it is uploading in binary.

Have you made any changes, new modules, blocks? Any changes to the server?

I don't change anything on the server - i know nothing about it

i've only made minor changes to a few different things. nothing really out of the ordinary.

still using the stock ravennuke with just a few adjustments.

Do you happen to know which files are related to this error so that I can compare them with unedited ravennuke files?
