Spam - Holy sunday

I watch my spam box since years. And there is one question I never found a plausible answer.
Why do I receive at sunday normally no spam e-mails ?
What prevents Spammer to do this at sunday ?
Are there any religious reasons ?
Are there financial reasons ?

Or is it just so that on sunday public Internet access is often not available because libaries etc. are closed ?
I tend to believe thats the prime reason but religion is possible an other reason.

That's an interesting question Susann.
By sub-conscious habit, I tend to pick up on 'trends' or 'patterns', especially if it is a behavioural pattern and I'm gutted I missed that one.
I'm off to check the dates in my Spam Box lol...

Well, a spam free sunday isn´t bad Razz

but because I tend to analyze things I would need to track more accounts but this is just what I found out from 1 e-mail account address wich is "burnt" since years.
The spam free sunday isn´t a trend I´m quite sure. There are just more or less good reasons for.

Do you mostly get Spam from Russia and china?

If so, what you are seeing is the Great China Firewall being reset. once a week(I believe Sunday-Monday China time, and Sunday USA and Europe time). This causes a lot of the Datacenters in China to appear down, and stop outgoing packets during this reset. Also, a lot of the spammers use China's and Russias(god only knows how some of their routes are behind this firewall, but they are) proxying servers.

I cant say this is definately the cause, but could be.

Thanks this makes sence I´m sure this is a reason somewhere too. I ´ve never thought about something like this...

School and offices are closed on sundays as well.
I suppose most of "do it yourself" spammers from less developed countries don't own their own PC and release from school/offices networks to send thier crap for pennies.

If they are smart enough they never use the own PC.
I´ve gotten nigerian spam mails from libaries as well spam from any other possible location inclusive one spam mail from a network of the armee.
Spammers are everywhere active.
Just on Sunday is a deep silence.
Guidyy did you noticed the same behavior sundays ?
