Yesterday I installed 2.5.18 and there are no problems with FF in IE the page starts but then it go's on white.

I replaced the files with 2.5.17 and everything go's well.

Did I make a mistake or is there a small problem?

What page does it go white on? I just logged into the administration of my site and everything is fine (IE7). Maybe try and re-upload your files in binary mode.

What version of IE?

I just tried it out on my site, my test sites, and several sites I maintain in Internet Exploder and have no problems. Only thing I see in IE is that it renders the pages improperly.

No problems here with IE7 or IE6.

Can you reproduce the problem for specific pages or is it just random?
A white/blank page sounds more like some sort of time-out from your server (correct me if im wrong).

I have the same problem. It usually happens when I go from the admin page back to the home page. Mine goes blank and grey, because of my website colors. This only happens with IE, firefox is fine. If I delete all the cookies/temp internet files, it's works fine again.

It didn't work Sad
The first page starts up and after a few seconds it becomes white.
Strange is that it isn't with all my sites, on the payed hosted it doesn't work and on the free hostes it works Confused

What page? The above statement doesn't give us a place to start looking at. I know you said the first page but which first page? Is it the main page, the main admin page, the NukeSentinel(tm) admin page or some other page? Copy and paste the url into your reply. Knowing what page it is will give a good place to start looking at the code to see what might be happening.

Hi All

It's related to the Sentinel scrolling block. IE stops when loading JS and then shows white screen. If you disable the scrolling block everything works fine (The scrolling block is working fine with Firefox).

I'm looking at the js files. The only thing I can find to do is to have not load the js in IE in which case it wouldn't scroll.

Yep, I have one site that has many banned IP address and it won't work with scrolling IP block enabled. I have another that has only a few banned IP's and it works fine in IE - I assume that is because it does not need to scroll.

Hi All

A temporary fix could also be to use the old "block-Sentinel_Scrolling.php" from v2.5.17 that uses the old marquee function. If you still want to use the scrolling block on your site's. This works fine with IE.

At least untill someone finds a fix for the new JS scrolling in IE Wink

The same problem in IE i had after upgraded to 2.5.18. Everything works smoothly except the scrolling block which is messing up the whole site and its prolly giving heart attack to less experienced webmasters. I had a hard time trying to figure out myself for a couple of days looking for a fix. i also thought if my site was hacked Laughing the problem is... the site loads and it stops showing blank white screen in internet explorer.

After disabling the sentinel scrolling block, everything works perfectly. Maybe javascripts problem?

i think making the topic sticky will save many members from getting heart attack like i had before killing me
