Smack Please do NOT post your real path settings in the forums. To do so opens up a possible security hole. Bang Head

I've had to put my install on hold for a few days will I work on another project. I should be able to hit this again on Monday and will let you know what I have to do to fix it. Since I'm in the same boat as you with the new vDeck, it may take some time to get it working. I had RavenNuke(tm) installed but then ran into an issue were my PMs were not posting to new users. I double checked the cookies settings as they were suggested but still a no go. I've now wiped the install and gone back to square one. Should be able to test again by Tuesday though.

I've gotten it installed. But not the dbase is dropping usernames. I entered two test accounts last night, was able to log in with them but as soon as I logged out they disappeared! Any ideas?

Database data doesn't just disappear.
How are you determining that two user accounts disappeared?
Are you saying you checked the nuke_users table and it was empty?

for example. in the nuke_users table I have field "username" but the only info shows "Rows = 1" and "username = anonymous"

shouldn't there be 3 rows? one with admin, one with user X and one with user Y?

Not quite.
Normal users are stored in the nuke_users table and by default there is one record there for 'anonymous'.
The admins are stored in the nuke_authors table and by default there are no records there except for the one which is made as part of the installation routine.
If you say you created two normal user accounts and verified these by logging into one of them (you would normally have a 'normal' user account even if you are an admin and your database is now only showing one record in the nuke_users table there is only three things that could cause this.
1 You were looking in the wrong database by accident
2 Someone else has access to your database and wiped it
3 Someone ran the installer after you did (this wipes the tables).

I will not be able to work on my install for a while. Sorry. You need to contact Startlogic if the vdeck change is effecting an old installation. I know what they'll say about a new one though... that you can "auto install" ver. 8.0 from the vdeck.

At what point are you stuck?
