A few months ago I tried a cgi proxy program but removed it, I still have error entries in my error log:
| Code: |
2007-xx-27 19:11:17]: error: file has no execute permission: (/home/xxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/proxy.cgi)
[2007-x-27 16:48:04]: error: file has no execute permission: (/home/xxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi)
|
When I first saw this error I changed the chmod to 777 but the error remained, I deleted the files from my site, the errors remain. It's not a big deal but I'd like to know how to get this ghost error out of my error log. Thanks |

Are you sure that no files in your website anywhere refer to this script?
Surely seems strange to receive permission errors once the files are deleted. You should be getting 'no such file' type errors if anyone or anything is trying to call them.
You might want to drop a note to your web hosting support about this. Sometimes when a client deletes a file, it isn't correctly removed, and cannot be seen by the client any longer. Dunno what else to think there...

Thanks PHrEEK, yeah I'm sure there were only these files in cgi-bin. As far as I know I was the only one ever called this file and since I deleted it it should be gone. I've had other errors about files but if I fix the error or delete the file no more errors except for this one. I'll submit a ticket to my host about it. |

Thanks, Raven, I got it a while back... I have to drop by to see if I have a PM or if a forum I'm watching has been posted to as my domain's email doesn't get through or so it seems. But the 'ghost' is gone from my error log. |
