A simple way might be to just to add your pictures/contents in a block with center up or center down positioning. |

I also don't like the topic images whenever you post a news topic. Additionally, I would like to have the option to disable the footer info for news. To get around these, I just use message and promote them to the frontpage.
The only thing about messages is I haven't figured out how to reorder the messages. I tried to renumber them in the database but that didn't work. As far as I can tell, messages stay in the order that you post them. |

You can remove the topic images by modifying your theme. See the themeindex() and themearticle() functions in theme.php. Remove the code that echo's out the topic <img> tag. |
