Upon testing the public v2.10.00 I get this message when first load the page as a guest in the left block:
Subscription
You are not a subscriber of RavenNuke v2.10.00 You can subscribe from here now!
The link just reloads the page nothing happens. I registered and tried again, same thing nothing happens just a page refresh. I am using mozilla and IE. |

To be quite honest, that is a really poorly written block (original author - FB). Thanks for pointing it out though. However, I can't think of any other way to subscribe than by doing into your Your Account page and subscribing there. But, I will admit that I have NEVER used this feature, so am not 100% sure.
Something for us/me to look into. Thanks! |

No probs.
I'm not even really sure what this feature does. Just thought I'd try it |

You need to create a new url/ because in the config is:
// $subscription_url: If you manage subscriptions on your site, you
// must write here the url of the subscription
// information/renewal page. This will send by
// email if set.
If you just like to play with that function like I did in the previous version of RavenNuke you can do that through the administration there edit user
select Subscribe User? Yes and Subscription Period: 1 Year
and you´ll see the changes in the "Your Account" of this member and also in that block logged in as user !
e.g. You are subscriber of mysite.de
Your subscription will expire in:
364 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes, 2 seconds
the e-mail notification works well and looks like this:
| Quote: | Hallo Susann !
This is an automated email to let you know that your subscription to our website's advertising removal has been activated starting from now and will be valid for 1 year(s).\n\nThe next time you visit our site, if you're logged in you'll notice that you'll not see any advertising at all, so you can browse our services without any distraction and in a more clean and comfortable environment.
Hope you like this service...
Thanks for your support, |

You could use this feature for members who are willing to pay for your service. |

Interesting! Thanks for the explanation Susann. Not a bad feature. Are there other possible uses for the subscription apart from advertising... perhaps relating to gaming clans?
And is it automatic that when a user is subscribed that the advertising does not show up for them if there is some via the admin advertising feature? |

I´m afraid I can tell you the pros and cons because I´m a noob when it comes to such questions like advertising, adsense and subscription. My websites are not build for profit.
You can choose in the block administration Visible to Subscribers? Yes or No and in the modules administration too.
Also there is a hack for a shorter subscribtion period available. |
