Hi all,
i have a rather simple -or so i think question relative to the chatserv patches.
Assuming that i apply the latest patch.
If afterwards i apply 3rd party modules -assuming they are clean- am i still protected from the patch for them too?
Yes or No?
Thx 4 reading this.

well not that easy to say...
but basically it comes to this...
patches are based on cleaning up and securing the phpnuke code...
any 3rd party modules etc installed should be safe but cannot fully be trusted.
the developers of modules arent fully focussed on security..
sure you can apply any patch to it but if the code is junk ..... |

Also, if your "add-on" replaces an existing core PHP-Nuke file that was patched... well, you have just taken on the risk of that developer's code...
Unfortunately, it is just a fact of life. If you don't write it yourself, you need to know what it is you are installing and if you do not understand what it is you are installing, YOU take on the risk of installing it.
No free rides in life... |
