Since I've added all the IP2Countries I'm also seeing a sharp increase in visitors but a good many of the hits are from inktomisearch.com which I assume is a search engine ... how do I limit where that bot can go? I don't want it accessing the site where ever it wants to. |

IP2Country ...
1) What was wrong with Moldova?
2) Did I need to import blocked (and if so where's the data for that)?
3) Do I need to move the Unknown (local IPs data file) to the IANA Reserved, or delete it or what?
Invading Search Bot ...
4) How do I block that infosearch bot, or minimize it's access? It's showing up as many visitors in WIW when it's not a legitimate visitor.

I don't think you'd have a problem with Moldova, esp if you're not expecting anyone from that country on your site
You don't need to import blocked (unless you wanted to ban whole countries)
To slow the Yahoo's Inktomi robot, add a crawl-delay to robots.txt - or you could ban it completely in that file |

Can you elaborate on how to do crawl-delay Yahoo's Inktomi robot in the robots.txt file? I don't currently have a section listed to crawl-delay ... and what exactly does that mean anyway. And would I want to ban a search engine bot?

Thanks, I did the delay thang for the search problem.
Now back to NS IP2Country ...
1) What was wrong with Moldova? I'd rather not block addresses if I don't have to. How do I fix it so those IPs get included (assuming they're not in now and use to be)?

I'm not sure what's wrong with Moldova, but I doubt you'd have anyone coming from there
You don't need to do anything with the Unknown, just load all the data files and you should be fine |
