I am rebuilding a site I have used "76_v2.02.02" with, and in the process of deleting all the old files I have failed to remove the import file. Everytime I delete it and re-open my ftp, the file remains ?

I've never had this before. Any ideas would be appreciated.

By the way, I cannot changed chmod permissions on the file either.

so what happens if you delete it and close your ftp ?
I mean realy close it,not just disconnecting...

and what message does your ftp client shows when deleting the file?
that its ok,or no permission etc....

if everything fails you can use your file manager on your hosting panel.

If I delete it, it seems to delete but if I properly close ftp client and reopen, the file is still there.
I have tried removing it via host cp but still won't delete.
I have deleted the whole site but it has left the import file and within that is another folder containing 6 country .data files which are

Code:
,_Democratic_Republic_Of_The.data
,_Peoples_Republic_Of_The.data
,_South.data
,_American.data
n_Islands,_American.data
n_Islands,_British.data

I can rename the import folder and folder within that but not the above files, nor can I change any chmod permissions (folders or files).

error shows

Code:
550 /file/file/,_Democratic_Republic_Of_The.data: No such file or directory

Baffled ???????

can be a few reasons i guess, but most common one is the cache.
and the error 550 indicates another reason for this such as not the proper rights to delete or upload..
