Kguske, do you mean that when you upload .htaccess to my site, it is removed from the site? Not sure what you mean by "it disappears". The file seems to be on the website still, just want to clarify what you meant.

when you contacted the mainvent site by ftp ...was that account set to view hidden files to ?

Yep. And even if I couldn't view them, there was no admin authentication when I went to the admin.php after renaming it...

well only thing left then...its a host thing....
i allways wonder about these things.....
why do host just dont offer all there is on a server as it should be standard....
that would be a lot simpler for everybody...
