Before you do that try setting register_globals to On and restarting Apache.

I have one more quick question.

To set file access (like allowing users to write to the userpics directory for image upload) I have to make an .htaccess file right?

Pm's are Pm's and only work for user accounts. I was logged in as a user when I sent it.

No. Set the file permissions to read/write (777) in *nix nomanclature.
