Hi raven,

Not long ago i saw a very handy function on a huge phpbb forum.

When you go to forum search it just have 2 options:

Search topic title and message text
Search message text only

But what ive seen was this:

Search topic title and message text
Search message text only
Search message title only

First i thought it was something they made so i maild evaders99 and asked him about this cause i couldnt find anything.

But i was suprised he found it Smile

This would be a great addon to your forum gaylen as it lets you search topic titles and you can get targeted results.. Smile

I just edited the few forum files and it works great.

Interesting... Do you think it would really be that useful? Just curious. I never have it search just the message text only...

yes i think it will..
For example ...just type blank admin for search term..
How many pages you get?
1000?

Well with this everybody can define its search to a specific problem like:
blank admin
blank module,cant login....etc...

If they use that on topic title then you get very acurate results...
Less queries ,page loading,traffic..etc...
Worth trying?

I gave it a try - it's loaded on nukeSEO now. I can see where it might help make searching forum messages more precise. This, and a popup of forum description would make browsing the forums more efficient. Thanks for the reminder...

Hmmm... It was not that easy to install this on RavenNuke. Took me some time to figure out what search_body.tpl to edit Smile

I use that for two languages on my forum also because there is only one line to translate. Smile
