WinSCP 3.8 beta is released [December 20th, 2005]

I don't know if you're using this proggie, but I couldn't live without it... Wink

WinSCP is an open source freeware SFTP client for Windows using SSH. Legacy SCP protocol is also supported. Its main function is safe copying of files between a local and a remote computer.

Most important (3.8 beta) changes are:

Checklist of synchronization actions.
The connection can be automatically re-established when lost during file transfer.
The Server/Protocol Information dialog remade. It now also shows space available for current directory.
Color can be associated with session.

I've never used this. I've always used WsFTP. I'll d/l it and try to see why you're so impressed Wink

Heh! I feel like NukeEvangelist when it comes to this proggie... Very Happy

WinSCP is great -- always has been -- but it just keeps getting better. I even carry it around with me on my 'pin drive', 'key drive', 'flash drive', whatever you wanna call it...

That way I can shell into my web site SECURELY from any public terminal in the world.

WinSCP works on top of PuTTY, which is a major plus in my book. It has a classic, easy to navigate, Norton Commander style GUI interface. It's *free*, fast, small and portable, yada, yada, yada... too many features to mention here.

Anyway, yes, give it a fair shake and I'm sure you'll like it too. Everyone that's tried it has loved it. After a while, they're telling me about it, like they 'discovered' it. LoL! Kinda reminds me of Firefox in that regard... Wink

Filezilla works good too... and it uses xml to store settings so if you have upgrade or reinstall you can easily just transfer your settings.
