I noticed when I upload this to my cpanel and extract it (same with ftp) all the folders and files are set to 700 (owner only permissions).. Was this intentional? Tested this on two different systems just in case it was some weird setting on the system I initialy tried. I went through and almost chmodded all the files back to 644 and all the folders to 755 but I gave up because there was another copy on nukescripts.net, but I had problems editing the users in admin because of the new sql layers they put in (I think)..

Also, I really hope to see the release of the modded nuke Raven mentioned on the news page.. Save me a lotta trouble since I'm a nuke newb..

That is not a result of the download - it is a result of either the ftp client/host and/or cpanel ftp that you use. They control that.

No it doesnt set 'em that way on the official files.. Permissions are fine there.. The download from here is the only one that comes out with strange permissions..

Oh, and the one I got from nukescripts.net didn't get set to weird permissions either.. I also had probs with the 6.9 version you have here.. I dunno, its weird..

There is nothing in this download that controls the settings on your machine. I use it all the time and it all ftp's just fine as well as hundreds of others that use it. If you are using cPanel to unpack the tar.gz file, I would suspect a cPanel setting.

actually he is correct that the contents of the PHP-Nuke-7.0.0.tar.gz here are all 700 permissions.
i don't care since i use linux and can fix that in 2 seconds but could be a pain for some.
i use tar zxvf to extract and tar ztvf to list the contents.
either one shows 700 permissions in every file.
i even tried tar ztvfp but the p didn't help.

My point was that I did not do anything to effect that, not that it wasn't the case. I just have been doing a poor job of articulating that. It came that way to me. I think I will go back to providing zips only. Thanks Scott.
