Ok im currently working with php nuke (cant remember version) and have built up quite a popular community in the forum. now what i wanted to do is have a new website with a basic html hompage with phpbb 2.0.17 forums and thats it no nuke.

nuke site - http://www.rcaerobatics.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums

new phpbb forums - http://rcaerobatics.co.uk/NEWFORUMS/index.php

so basically i need to transfer all users from phpnuke forums to the new phpb forum.

Please can anyone help me

Do you just want to transfer the users or are you looking to migrate your nuke phpbb to a stand alone phpbb with all the posts in tact?

I was under the impression the lead developer of phpBB had quit, leaving the future of phpBB in debate?

Just thought I'd mention that phpBB 2.0.18 has been released...

http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php

It's a major update including many fixes for bugs and security problems found during a recent code audit of phpBB.

Good times Smile

He has left but the project goes on. He was the Lead developer but not the only developer.

Quick question concerning this... how do we update our nukephbb with this? Are we supposed run patch files again after we update? I am confused...

You will need to wait to see if Chat is going to release a patch/upgrade file.

I already have one port for core Nuke and one for patched but i haven't been able to do real testing and it would be foolish of me to release it just like that, if anyone wants to help test it email me specifying which one you want and i'll email it back to you.

Make sure you placed the converter in phpBB's main folder and not on Nuke's.

This may sound silly...
Instead of converting nuke back to plain phpbb
Why not simply kill the blocks/modules and place the forums on the front page ?
That way, if for any reason in the future u may wish to run a block or somethijng u can without any hassle...leaves your options open.
Then there is SEO and GTing phpbb, that seems it could be a mission, the able2know site seems to be the only good place for such support
I think would be a matter sticking to the 'Devil we know'
As the phpbb devalopers are going thru a 'change ' which in open source means there could be a possiblity of lack of support updates for a while. With nuke we do have Chatsev Raven and crew that are stable, know what they are doing.

I will live dangerously and venture that the phpBB to Nuke port is safer and more secure than the stand alone version anyway!
