hi there...

so i am running php nuke 7.5, and i did my entire webpage in a subdirectory so no one would be able to see it before i released it. i got it switched over to the root directory just fine, went through the page and checked the links again to make sure they all worked, which they did.

then i announced it to everyone, and now its buggy as all get out. the page doesnt load for multiple reloads, the security code pic doesnt always load, no one can register or log in because of this. and sometimes the links load as blank pages.

i am not sure why. it is timing out before the page can load. is there any way to change this in the index.php/admin/etc etc.php code? or is this not the way to solve the problem? or is there some kind of max connections allowed? because there were maybe at most 20 ppl that could have checked that site all at once, but that is not that many.

i tried downsizing the pictures on my php page as much as i could, and replacing parts of the mainfile.php with some code i found on nukecops.com, to no avail. the page is faster once it decides to reload, but it didnt solve the multiple reload problem.

i asked my webhost a couple of connection questions and this is what they said:

Php is a module, and there is no limit in http connection.
Script execution time is 20 minutes.

does anyone know what would cause this? i am so close to getting my page up and running!

I couldn't get anything to load at all, I even tried entering the full URL to several stock modules. Multiple refreshes brought no results for me.

Ok, it loaded the first time for me no problem, registration worked without a flaw, and the site loaded super fast. I used the Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! as the URL for testing.

I then went back and tested using Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

At first it seemed ok, and then it quit working... I think there may be a problem with the way that your host is directing the domain to the subfolder cause it works superbly using the first link but falls apart using the direct domain approach

well all the files are in the main root directory, and i am 95% sure the files in the root point to the files in the root directory...i cant figure it out. the subdirectory i copied it from works fine, and there are no links pointing to it in the main root directory.

Do the settings in the Nuke ACP and the Forum ACP point to the root or are they still pointed to the /frazier path?

Do you use CPanel? If so, you might check under the redirects folder to make sure that something is not awry there. Beyond that I am not certain what could be causing your issue unless you missed something when moving the structure to the root.

Darn, I wish I was at home right now to check this (I'm involved with som many CMS's I often forget what relates to which Smile

It might pay to check you htaccess file in the root too in case there is some wierd re-write going on. There should not be but it seems we are grasping at straws here.

I'm not sure of the correct syntax as I'm not at home at the moment to extract it from the htaccess file but you should have something in the top like;
Re-Write Engine On
^index.html index.php

Hmm just checked the links again and yoursite.com/index.html redirects to the sub directory still.
Check config.php also to ensure that has the correct url in it
