I have never used this system and I have a client that needs to remove it. What is the most thorough way? Thanks!

I personally followed the install instructions to remove it. Do the code hacks (remove added lines of code) first, test for errors ( I had none) then remove the added files and directories and lastly remove the database tables. I recommend doing an sql dump of those tables first, just in case.

I did those steps and had no trouble. In fact it took longer to remove protector than to install and securely config Sentinel.

I am thinking of doing this same thing on my site. After reading up on Nuke Sentinal I think it is more robust than Protector. Protector did catch a UNION hack and banned some guy from Brazil.
