Pages not refreshing upon hitting back button.

Below is a quote from my site where my users are having some difficulty:

When I access the site, I go to the Forum Index and often use the discussion forum scrolling list to access recent posts. If I read the post, then use the Back button to go back to the index (as opposed to not having to wait for the list to scroll all the way through on the current page), the scrolling list is not the same. Rather, it's an outdated list from a few days previous. It's very odd.

I've also read some posts where if I click the Back button, I get a "timeout" screen and have to click the Retry button to reload the page. It'll reload the page, then bring me right back to the post I was reading. It's so strange.

I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this.

That's a function of the Browser. Hitting the back button retrieves the page from the cache. Since most pages are dynamic, rather than static, you can and will get some strange results.
