The editor for the advertising module, allows a preview of banner ads before making them active.

Is it possible to preview a banner ad code in a private message before sending it?

Thank you.

Not really clear what do you want but the advertising module has nothing to do with the private messages.

The advertising banners are showing randomly page-wide in each module/area when the used banner-position is active (header, blocks, footer).

The private messages are not more than a single forum post between two users. So you have like a normal forum post in each private message form a "preview" button to show the content of your post.

Or do you want create an unique advertising banner that will be only shown in the private messages module instead to show the random banner rotation? If yes, on which position you want have it (header, blocks, footer)?

neralex, I know the advertising module has nothing to do with the private message module.

If I copy and paste a banner code into the Javascript/HTML Code Box of the advertising module editor, I can click the Source button to see exactly how the banner looks.

Is there any way to see the actual image within the private message module before sending it to another member?

Thanks.

neralex, I know I can view the code in the advertising module editor or any similar editor, and then send it in a private message.

I want members to simply place a banner code in the private message module text box and preview it before sending.

Thanks for your response.

Nope, because the private messages are working with BBCodes, as you know it from a normal forum post, and not with a HTML-editor. As i wrote, you can use the preview-button to show your typed BBCodes. Its not recommended to allow HTML in forum posts, it would open a big security hole and it would be easy to deface your website.

BBCode Example:

Code:

This looks like:
