Hopefully everyone is enjoying the upgraded site and it's enhancements, especially in the forums. As of now, there are 1 known issue:
  1. DNS servers are not all updated (i.e. ravenphpscripts.com points to the old server with site maintenance message or is unavailable. This should be resolved within 24 hours as some DNS servers take time to update. Until then, use ravenphpscripts.net instead of ravenphpscripts.com.
  2. (FIXED) Forum reply notifications have invalid links. - this was related to a phpBB mod (Watched Forums) that didn't accommodate RN's forum links
This will be updated as issues are resolved. Feel free to post additional issues that you identify here.

Excited to see this site get some long needed updates Smile I can only imagine the work involved. Rolling Eyes

Also glad you are liking Advanced BBCode Box and cool to see that in use. Have been needing to make some small updates to that mod, but only so much available time.... most notably "Twitter signatures" which no longer function due to changes in Twitter's API (can no longer retrieve tweets anonymously)

I visit other sites that use this theme quite a lot but there's just something about visiting RPS and seeing this theme that seems like a breath of fresh air.

I am unable to access my old account, uxovs

The login page says no such user, however, when I submit a password reset request, the link and code come through to my registered email fine as does the email with my new password.

ANOTHER ISSUE: the Members List page is missing:

Code:
ERROR: 404 - Page Not Found

The file requested was not found
Hint: Verify that the file exists - Filenames are usually case sensitive - Check for spelling errors

Your IP : (REMOVED)
Page Requested : /modules.php?name=ErrorDocuments&file=404&rs=members.html
Agent : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0

TNGWeb (uxovs), not sure what it is, but there must be something about that account. I'll look into it further - the account is there, and I reset the password, but got the same response.

We didn't convert the member list module - on a site with 23,000 users, I'm not sure what good it would do except provide spam fodder (other than verify your account if you can't log in!).

The account was marked inactive. You should be able to reset the password (if you haven't already) and login now.

Good to go. Thank you for fixing that for me. The TNGWeb account can be deleted as I am going to continue using this account.

While true; I've only been lurking for some time (my work has occupied my time for the past several years); still, what I wouldn't give to have access to the html and template files for a few hours. The W3C Compliance errors give me kittens. CSS Also is failing validation. Looks like there is a defined
Code:
opacity=40
that generating 240 parse errors? Hmm....

The RSS 2.0 Output is also not validating either. Looks like a missing expression and for some reason your RSS output is not getting apostrophe conversions in there. I haven't looked at the code, so I'm not sure what the call is; but is it maybe short an
Code:
, ENT_QUOTES))
at the end?

The other thing is the output clock is exactly 5 hours fast as defined in the
Code:
<lastBuildDate>
This problem automatically make feeds invalid due to an "implausible time" error.

Next, the RSS Definition should look like this:
Code:
<rss version="2.0" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">
and after the channel call,
Code:
<atom:link href="http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/backend.php" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" />

Update:
Started browsing a little more, and found some other issues. I'm not sure which version of list item definitions you are using in phpBB; but it doesn't close between Ordered List, List Items.

At present, ordered list items just appear as:
Code:
<ol type="1">

<li>Item One
<li>Item Two
</ol>

This was fine in HTML; but in XHTML, each item should be closed:

<ol type="1">
<li>Item One</li>
<li>Item Two</li>
</ol>

There is also a missing close statement on the button value for the quote selected... easy fix though, just find the templates with:
Code:
<input type='button' name='quoteselected' class='liteoption' value='Quote selected' onclick='javascript:quoteSelection()'>

Change to:
<input type='button' name='quoteselected' class='liteoption' value='Quote selected' onclick='javascript:quoteSelection()' />

On the homepage, the old faithful forums scroller is dead in both IE and Firefox. It may have something to do with browser version; but it looks like the line has been cut down to 1 from (I think it should be 4 or 5). I haven't looked at my old code; but when collapsed, it showed the entire contents of the most recent and scrolled to the next every few seconds.
Image
(The original of this image is being reduced by forum settings; but if you click on it, you'll see the full size).

Nice to see site evolving/morphing into the next model! .... Smile

Thanks, Steph. Glad to know you are still around!

I suspect most of these issues are related to the forum enhancements or custom blocks that aren't part of RavenNuke. We'll certainly take a look, especially on the forum enhancements as I hope to package those up as a separate download for others who might be interested.

The opacity=40 is a non-standard property used by Microsoft in IE8 and below. It is only used to support older browsers that are still in use.

64bitguy,
Quote:

This appears to be an issue with bbcode.php and bbcode.tpl - i.e. it's a problem for all themes that have forum templates, including base RN. There is no provision for closing the LI tag.

If you've seen this implemented in a standard way in these files, please point me to it as I don't wish to conflict with themes that use a standard approach...

When I rewrote my code, I rewrote the List Items Code.... I also fed that back to phpBB and it was incorporated into phpBB 3..... I'd have to dig out my old code to compare whatever you are using versus whatever I wrote back then.

Actually, I don't know how that got it in there as it is not W3C Compliant and therefor should not be used in HTML/XHTML Coding.

Instead, "Opacity" can be defined in CSS which would both work with pre-IE8 Browsers AND be 100% W3C Compliant.

Like I said, what I wouldn't give to put my arms around them templates for a day or so..... Somewhere, I have my code for the Center Block Forums Scroller too... Mine is exactly like the one here, only it is 100% W3C Complaint (oh... and yeah, it actually works in all browsers too).....

Thanks! I looked at some other implementations, including phpBB3 last night, but it was too complex for me to wrap my head around after a long day.

Regarding the opacity issue, I noticed today that there are 24 semi-transparent images for each of the 10 stories that use this:
Code:
$bookmarkHTML .= "<img alt=\"\" border=\"0\" class=\"sbicon $imgclass\" src=\"$siteimg\" style=\"opacity:0.4;filter:alpha(opacity=40)\" onmouseover=\"this.style.opacity=1;this.filters.alpha.opacity=100\" onmouseout=\"this.style.opacity=0.4;this.filters.alpha.opacity=40\" />";

I certainly haven't done the kind of compliance work you've done, but it seems we could move the style=\"opacity:0.4;filter:alpha(opacity=40)\" to CSS since we already have class=\"sbicon $imgclass\"

Am I missing something?

The filter:alpha(opacity=40) part was added for IE7. The best I remember, opacity did not work in ie7. At the time, 7 was still in heavy use.
