This is how my server setup PHP/Perl Mail:

Setting Up PHP/Perl Mail
1. Enter the email address from which you would like to send all emails. This address will display in the "From:" field.
2. If you would like to receive error logs, you will need to create a tmp directory. If errors are encountered while sending email, logs will be automatically generated and stored in your tmp directory.

PHP/Perl Mail Setup
You have used 0 of your 250 recipients today.
Default "From:" for PHP/Perl Mail: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Note: Your recipient quota is reset 24 hours after your first mailing in any 24-hour period. Recipients in your domain (MyDomain.com) are not counted toward your quota.

All vistors and regular users
Is there a way they can use the Feedback and Recommend form?

Thank you.

I have deactivated recommend and Feedback. I assume there is no way for all visitors and regular users to use the Recommend Us and Feedback form, because of my server setup for PHP and Perl Mail.

All this works just fine with a sound mail system setup. You could even use the TegoNuke(tm) Mailer to use authenticated SMTP as well as another possible set up.

I would check with your web host to get your mail set up right.

Where do I find this type of setup?

I am currently trying to get TegoNuke to work.

The first post in this topic is my web host setup.

How to for TegoNuke(tm) Mailer
[ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Does you host not have a faq or how to about setting up the mail server?
Have you set up your default mail address on your server?
Have you tried to use that mail address in your config?

TegoNuke is active, and the SMTP Configuration Settings is set.

When I send a Feedback, I get this message:

Mailer attempting to send...
++ Starting Swift_SmtpTransport
!! Connection could not be established with host smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com [Permission denied #13]

Should I use another Send Method?

Thanks.

I changed the Send Method to: SendMail
Sendmail Path is: /usr/sbin/sendmail -t

Mail is now being sent by the Recommend Us and Feedback form, but no mail is being received.

Thanks.

mike63740, we now have the same thread going across two different sites. Since you started the thread here, why don't we stay here.

The bottom line is your server is not set up properly for sending mail. Unfortunately I am not a system administrator and so do not know how to set up the actual mail transport at a server level which is why I am saying to contact your web host for proper set up. At least that is the issue, I believe, with your PHP Mail() and Sendmail options.

Now, as I mentioned over on my site in the duplicate forum thread:

"Now, with SMTP, if you can make a connection from a local mail client on your PC, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc., then use the same settings you used for that for TegoNuke(tm) Mailer in order to make the outgoing SMTP connection to the mentioned Yahoo service. In this case, it isn't the send method, but how you are setting it up."

I had a Feedback and a Recommend Us form created. Both are working well with PHP mail. Thanks for all the help and advice.

I have merged a complete HTML website with RavenNuke 2.50.00. It is time to send out emails to current users of the HTML website, asking them to visit the new site and to register.

All users are in Outlook.

Can I use TegoNuke newsletters to notify users?

Should I start a new topic first?

Thanks.

mike63740, a resounding "yes" on separate topic on the user notification.

So, what did you do to get mail to work now? It might help others to know if they visit this thread.

RavenNuke 2.50.00 Recommend Us FORM FIELDS:

Your Name:
Your E-mail:
Your Friend's Name:
Your Friend's E-mail:
Send

My web host provided me with two sample email forms. I made some changes to the Your E-mail: field(from address).

In order for my web host to control spam, it restricts me to always use a FROM ADDRESS that is on the domain the mail is being sent from. The new form is placed in a HTML Module, then activated. Raven RU form is deactivated.

New Recommend Us FORM FIELDS:
Your Name:
Your Friend's E-mail:
Message:
Send

I gave Your E-mail: field an initial value [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] and made the field hidden so the from address would be from my domain as my web host requires.
<input name="youremail" type="hidden" id="email" value="youremail@yourdomain.com" size="30" maxlength="45">

Optional
This is where you can specify the page that is shown after the user presses the "Send" button.
<input type="hidden" name="next_url" value="http://yourdomain.com/modules.php?name=HTML_Module_Thankyou">

I know I am taking the long way home, but it is all I know at the time.

I have just been reading through this thread and I have a question.
In your post dated Sat May 26, 2012 7:30 pm you said
Quote:

When I send a Feedback, I get this message:
Mailer attempting to send...
++ Starting Swift_SmtpTransport
!! Connection could not be established with host smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com [Permission denied #13]

Are you attempting to send mail from a Yahoo SMTP account?

I would assume your domain is not actually Yahoo.com so please be aware that most servers will only allow you to send mail originating from the host domain for security reasons. i.e. if your domain is apples.com the 'From' address and SMTP connection must also be from apples.com

Guardian2003, I am not quite understanding your question or assumption.

Yes, I was trying to send mail from a Yahoo SMTP account.
No, Yahoo.com is not my domain. I wish! Yahoo.com is worth: $268,275,624.15

While playing around with the TegoNuke Mailer Settings, I set the Send Method to SMTP and the Debug Level to ON, WITH SEND. It gave me the exact message below. No text was changed. Some may have been omitted

That is why I posted what I did. If I'm not mistaken, the error you mentioned

seems to indicate you configured SMTP mail to attempt to send email from the mail server at bizmail.yahoo.com, which your relpy seems to confirm

Normally, hosting providers restrict you to using the mail server for the domain the script is installed on, though some hosting providers do make it more difficult than it needs to be by using a none standard port in an attempt to stop virii or malware from relaying mail.

Yes, this is quite non-standard and this is the first post of its kind. I will put it on my roadmap to review this for the next edition of the TegoNuke(tm) Mailer to see if i can add additional options. I believe, however, that it is using whatever you have set for your admin mail account. So, curious what would have happened if you had used a Yahoo.com email address for that.
