Hi everyone,

My site is currently running off phpnuke v6.9 and I'd like some advice on which way is best to include custom php files.

I write networking articles (php files) for my website which I then publish online for the community to read. Until now, when creating a new php file, I would add the following php code at the beggining, to force phpnuke 'wrap around' the page I wrote, thus, giving the impression the page loading within phpnuke:

<?php
include_once("header.php")
?>

Because I understand this is not the best way to do the job, I'm wondering if anyone else can suggest a better way of doing this;

The php files I create contain <head> and <body> <meta> tags, just like a normal html file, but most of these tags are lost when 'wrapping' the file with the phpnuke engine as it places its own static meta tags every time, thus not helping search engines 'read' the meta tags of the articles I write.

The goal is to use a method that will be more user friendly to search engines and get each article's meta tags visible while still loading within phpnuke!

Your suggestions are much appreciated!

Many thanks.

Just curious why don't you use the content or even the news module for articles?

Well the meta data is loaded in includes/meta.php

You could probably write a variable to load your custom meta data first. And then include header.php (which will call meta.php at some point)

Oh sorry, you wanted better meta tags. There is talk of adding that facility to a future version. I believe I've seen add-ons floating around that do this (wasn't the author of one slaytanic_wehrmact?).
