The search function does not recognize some letters/characters.

I tried to search a title that have ", & or ' characters, eventhough the title is there, the search function says not found. i tried a lot of links that i know are there and it says Not found.

i don't know if this is a bug or it's meant to be that way, if so, is there any solution for this?

help! Smile

Probably not, though you might try escaping them (e.g. \' ) if you really want to search them.

Here in RavenPHPScripts, have the same problem.
When we go here: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

An we search for example: La Marche De L'Empereur
It appears in the final:

Quote:
Didn't find what you're looking for?

Search "La Marche De L\\\\\\\'Empereur" on:

* Downloads (0 Search Results)
* Web Links (0 Search Results)
* Google
* Google Groups

Look at the \\\\\\\, maybe the problem is here... any fix for this? Smile

Probably this will have to be factored into the next release of Ravennuke if we can confirm and isolate it as a problem. It's the kind of thing that is not a simple fix: we'd need to identify exactly which characters are not being properly "escaped" and look at all the places in SQL statements where this is happening and fix it without creating security or other problems.
