Is it possible for some one to have two diff. user id's. I have my forums set to only allow registered to post. I however have a post by someone say, joe, in the forum block it says Anonymous, I have that not allowed, in my members list, there is no one by that id. How is this possible?

Thanks

By default, Nuke won't allow someone to register a username using 'anonymous' etc.
Double check each forum setting. There are seperate permissions for each forum and be sure to go into the advanced view in the phpbb forum permissions page.

Note that by default, users can register through the Forums
modules.php? name=Forums&file=profile&mode=register

If that link works on your site, I would suggest redirecting to the Your_Account module

if they did register through that link, wouldn't they show up in the members list? If they registered it is not a problem, but I do not see them listed as a member

I don't see how someone can post without being a member. I don't know of any specific vulnerabilities in the latest phpBBs. What version are you using? Forums version?
