shoutbox (YOU R GOD IF U CAN DO THIS)

hey guys

i was surfin the net when i found a really cool shoutbox.

whenever a user shouted, it didnt refresh the whole page. Instead it refreshed only the shoutbox !

i scrolled down and then i found that the site was Xoops.

A similar one is used on IPB (invision power board)

I was wondering if there was any way to use any of these shoutbox on ravenNuke ????

ANY1 WHO CAN PORT IT WILL BE GOD ! SO PLEASE HELP ME !

It's probably done with Flash or AJAX. No reason why it couldn't be used with Nuke, but I'm not aware of any existing Nuke addons that do that. Then again, I haven't been looking for that, so it could very well exist.

S60addict, Id sudjest a whole nother approach. Most shoutboxes use a frame to create the box itself, I would sudjest taking a working shoutbox, NAME the frame if not named, then with the submit button, use window.parent.frames['frame name'].refresh(); right after the function, make sure you echo that in script tags as its javascript and not php.
I believe the alternative is header(refresh) which refreshes the whole page.
Matter of fact, you should find the header(refresh) code and replacing that with the echo statement should do the trick. As Im currently extrmemly busy on my server, I personally do not have the time right now, but in a day or so I might.

Got to admit, Ive been workin on this code for a minute, its a little beyond me how this shoutbox works, besides the fact that it is written purely in javascript but using php to define the variables, Nice way of doing it but thats only one shoutbox Ive played with, Ill try others to see If I cant get better results.

Well, i have found a shoutbox for php-nuke that has shoutbox only refresh feature. It is an Ajax shoutbox.

The problem is that it is not integrated with php-nuke database !

If not xoops or ipb, can u plz just integreate it sumhow in the nuke database so that it takes the username of the shouter from the nuke database ?????
