Ever since I installed RavenNuke and finished migrating tabls, user are complaining at the load time of pages. While the bottom of the page will display .19 seconds, there is a long pause before the page actually loads after clicking a link.

Initially, I researched NukeSentinel and made some changes such as IP logging. That didn't appear to help anything. I also turned on error reporting in the Vdeck configuration via the host settings.

Here are some of the errors I am seeing.

Code:
[Thu Sep 21 12:12:09 2006] [error] [client 68.48.99.184] mod_security: Warning. Pattern match "(pl$|cgi$|php$)" at SCRIPT_FILENAME [hostname "secondchancebirdrescue.com"] [uri "/phpnuke/admin.php"] [Thu Sep 21 12:11:53 2006] [error] [client 68.48.99.184] mod_security: Warning. And there are many many more. Anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

My guess is mod_security is taking a lot of time, you may want to disable it

How does one go about disabling something like that? Do I need to comment out each reference to it, or is this within NukeSentinel?

It is something installed on your server, you'd have to ask your host

I just paged around thru you site and it seems quite snappy.

As Evaders indicates mod_security is an Apache (web server) module that's run on your host. Depending on who your host is, they may or may not be willing to look at it for you. On the bigger hosts, like Ipowerweb, they will basically tell you to go pound salt. In other words they won't modify it for individual users unless you can point out something they are doing that's egregiously wrong. And even then ... On other hosts, like Raven's, they will at least take a look for you.

But at the same time, there is little evidence that mod_security is really the source of your problems. I was looking at your site for huge graphic files or something like that, that might take a long time to load. But I didn't see it. If you can point us to a particular "file" that takes a long time to load maybe we can figure out something. You might also find view source useful in those circumstances to figure out what's happening as the PHP is "translated" into html and rendered.

Well, in general all navigation throughout the site is slow. The page generation time is fast, usually around .2 seconds or so. However, it is as if there is a 3 to 7 second pause between each page...sometimes longer. It is mostly seen throughout navigation of the forums and posts.

Perhaps then it is just affecting those members logged in? I am also having an issue with the cookies. Seems the topis read and topics unread markings are flaky. I have been adjusting the cookie path and domain trying to find the right combination, but still having problems with that.

Is it possible this is only affecting those users logged in, or registered?

I registered an account, logged into your site, went around the forums... no problem.
I'm using Firefox.
